Many would think that RedDot was named after this sunny island but RedDot Brewhouse’s origins and name were actually in South Africa. A packet of ingredients that RedDot’s founder, Ernest Ng, had bought to kickstart his brewing journey had a red dot on it. Hence, RedDot BrewHouse is known as such. The mastermind behind all the brews is brewmaster and founder Ernest Ng, who has had years of experience in brewing ever since he picked it up in South Africa. Known for their Monster Green Lager which contains spirulina and has several health benefits, RedDot also offers several other brews like the Czech Pilsner and the RedDot Limewheat.

Started by two brothers and their uncle, the name of the brewery is a tribute to their grandfather/father who was born in 1925. The Yeo Family claims that the 1925 is truly a local microbrewery. Many of the beers have stories behind them – such as the Yellow Van Ale, named after the yellow van that the patriarch of the family used to drive and the Blk 6.22 Dark Ale, named after the patriarch’s home in Ang Mo Kio. Try out their various dishes that have local influences such as Mr Loh Ba Loh Ba, a braised pork belly dish and the usage of dried sole fish for the rempah used in their Chilli Crab Ravioli.
